Experience

  • Twenty plus years teaching Kinesiology, Yoga and Tai Chi with emphasis on nutrition, stress management and alignment as a Professor at Houston, Texas, Jr. Colleges. (Lee College, Baytown, 1-1/2 years and Lone Star College, Kingwood, 19 years)

  • Taught Alignment, Yoga, Pilates and Stress Management as a staff member and instructor at Memorial Hospital’s Physical Department in Humble, Texas, for nine years

Training

  • Walk and Talk Therapy Certification with Psychologist Jenna Udler, LCSW-C

  • Black belts in Martial Arts, (Tai Chi, Karate, Kung Fu) with emphasis on health and wellbeing

  • Many years of Yoga studies with leaders in the field, such as Bikram, John Friend (Anusara), Iyengar and Yin Yoga. These are the main interpretations that I studied. However, Hatha Yoga remains the only true style of Yoga.

  • Stress management is an integral part of the Yoga discipline and I expanded my studies in that direction in Neuroscience Studies, Mindfulness and Sound Therapy.

  • Pilates proved to be a must discipline for me as it had more emphasis on Alignment, Spine and Posture correction.  I completed a three-stage program to reach Pilates’ advanced level requirements set by its Founder.

  • I continue to stay abreast of current developments in my field through online studies offered by many universities. They now offer state-of-the art techniques and the most recent developments in health and wellbeing.
